Two lines, two roles

A VorTech is a powerhead. It clamps to the display glass, keeps its motor on the dry side, and moves water within the tank itself. A Vectra is a pump — it lives in or next to the sump and pushes water back to the display or through connected equipment. Many reef systems run both, and the two lines share controller and accessory infrastructure, which is why they sit in one collection.

Service and upgrade parts

• Wet side and dry side assemblies replace half a VorTech instead of the entire unit.
• Drivers and power supplies must match both model and QD generation.
• Foam inserts are routine service items on VorTech wet sides.
• Barb and screen kits adapt Vectra S2 and M2 to hose.
• The Mobius RF module brings app control to compatible earlier hardware.

Before ordering a part

EcoTech has released multiple hardware generations and QD-era components differ from what came before, despite looking similar. Read the model badge on the pump or driver first. On any system where a stalled return or powerhead would cause real trouble, a battery backup booster is a sensible addition rather than an afterthought.
