Why head tubing gets replaced

Rollers flatten the tube inside the pump head on every rotation, and after thousands of cycles it takes a permanent set. Output per rotation drops off gradually, so the pump carries on running while delivering less than the programme calls for. Manufacturers publish a service life in operating hours; the sensible approach is to change the tube on that interval and recalibrate immediately afterward.

Line management

Assign a tube color to each solution and the risk of refilling the wrong container disappears. Anchor the lines in a holder at the sump so the outlets stay put above the water line, and leave slack so lifting a container cannot pull a tube out.
