Keep Media Contained and Changeable

Loose media drifts around a filter chamber, jams impellers and turns every media change into a mess. A mesh bag holds a charge together so you can lift it out in one go, and lets you run different media types alongside each other.

Matching Mesh to Media

  • Fine mesh — for granular carbon and resins that would escape a coarser weave.
  • Coarser mesh — for chunky media like ceramic spheres, where flow-through matters most.
  • Zip and drawstring closures — reusable, so you empty, rinse and refill rather than rebuy.

Fill loosely. Water needs to pass through the media, and a tightly packed bag just diverts flow around it. Rinse in tank water, and replace bags once the mesh blinds or splits. Questions? Email info@jlaquatics.com.

J&L Aquatics was formed in December 1997

Our business was started from our love of the aquarium hobby. We at J&L Aquatics felt that the Canadian aquarist should have the option to purchase top quality supplies, equipment and livestock other than the generally over priced local retail stores.
