Collection: Underwater Filters

Submersible filters that mount inside the aquarium, in sizes from desktop nano up to mid-size tanks, along with corner filters and replacement parts. The housing displaces water, so measure the space you can spare before choosing a size.

Everything Stays Inside the Aquarium

An internal filter runs fully submerged, with no external canister, no siphon to prime and no hoses crossing the rim. That suits small display tanks, hospital and breeding setups, and any aquarium where cabinet space is short or a plumbing failure would go unnoticed. The cost is volume: the housing occupies water the tank would otherwise hold.

What You Will Find Here

  • Submersible power filters in a stepped range of sizes.
  • Compact units for nano and desktop aquariums.
  • An internal filter with a built-in water-change function.
  • Corner filters, including one shaped for fry and very small tanks.
  • Replacement parts — extension pieces and suction cups.

Practical Notes

  • Check the housing dimensions against the corner you plan to use before ordering.
  • Point the return along the front or back glass so the flow stirs the surface without scouring the substrate.
  • Wash sponges and cartridges in tank water rather than tap water.
  • Replace tired suction cups early — a filter that works loose can stir up the substrate overnight.

J&L Aquatics was formed in December 1997

Our business was started from our love of the aquarium hobby. We at J&L Aquatics felt that the Canadian aquarist should have the option to purchase top quality supplies, equipment and livestock other than the generally over priced local retail stores.
