The idea behind them

A conventional return nozzle pushes water one way at one rate, leaving predictable dead spots. A random flow generator fits on that return and splits the stream into a pattern that changes continuously by itself. It draws no power and has nothing to fail mechanically, and it uses the pump already running the system rather than adding another device to the display.

Matching one to your setup

• Available from 1/4 inch for nano returns up through 1, 3/4 and 1/2 inch.
• Red Sea Reefer tanks use the drop adapter to position the nozzle correctly.
• Waterbox tanks with 22mm returns need the matching adapter.
• Upgrade kits replace the return nozzle assembly rather than supplementing it.

Nozzle or full upgrade

Where the existing return plumbing is in good shape, adding a FLEX series nozzle is the smaller and cheaper change. The full Ultimate Return Line Upgrade suits a return being rebuilt anyway or a factory return that sits at an awkward height. Either way the deciding factors are size and, on Reefer and Waterbox systems, the correct adapter.
