Four sizes of Quantum

Quantum skimmers carry the numbers 120, 160, 220 and 300, rising with the size of the unit, and the range spans small displays through to large systems. Sizing a skimmer follows the bioload a system carries rather than its volume on its own, which is how a sparsely stocked large tank and a heavily stocked medium one can end up on the same model.

Where EQ fits in

• Standard and EQ versions are both listed for the 160, 220 and 300.
• Only a standard version is listed for the 120.
• A separate EQ upgrade kit is listed for each of the three larger sizes.

Moving an existing unit to EQ

The upgrade kits let someone already running a standard Quantum in one of the three larger sizes reach the EQ specification without a second skimmer purchase. A kit is made for one size and will not transfer to another. The size is marked on the body of the skimmer, so read it off the unit rather than relying on the model you think you bought.
