Product Description
Red Sea ReefControl Lite
Red Sea ReefControl Lite is a ReefBeat-connected reef aquarium controller that monitors pH and temperature with the included ReefSense digital probe, supports up to two ReefSense digital probes or sensors, and can control one 12V DC device in response to sensor readings.
Red Sea ReefControl Lite Monitoring and Automation
ReefControl Lite brings continuous aquarium monitoring, historical data and equipment response into the ReefBeat ecosystem. Current probe values can be viewed from a mobile device, acceptable ranges can be set for individual parameters, and ReefBeat can provide notifications when readings move outside those ranges or a connected sensor or device reports a problem.
- Two ReefSense connections: Use up to two compatible digital ReefSense probes or sensors to build the monitoring combination that suits the aquarium.
- Sensor-driven 12V control: One compatible 12V DC device can be configured to respond to a specific sensor condition, allowing equipment such as a cooling fan or solenoid to operate according to measured aquarium conditions.
- ReefControl Power integration: Pairing the controller with ReefControl Power extends sensor-based automation to plugged-in AC equipment such as heaters.
- ReefControl ATO compatibility: The ReefControl ATO Module connects its digital level sensor and DC pump directly to ReefControl Lite, adding automatic top-off without another dedicated ATO controller.
Digital ReefSense Probe Technology
ReefSense probes convert their sensor data to digital readings inside the probe itself, reducing the effect of electromagnetic interference on the cable between the sensor and controller. Calibration information and calibration history are stored on the probe, so a calibrated probe can be moved between compatible ReefControl units without having to repeat its calibration simply because it changed ports.
- Interchangeable connections: Compatible ReefSense probes and sensors share a common digital interface, so any supported ReefSense device can use an available ReefSense port rather than requiring a dedicated port for each parameter.
- Trend analysis: ReefBeat provides interactive graphs plus minimum, maximum and average readings over the previous 28 days for connected ReefSense probes.
- Guided calibration: ReefBeat guides the user through semi-automatic calibration for probes that require it.
- Remote probe use: ReefSense probes can communicate with ReefBeat over Bluetooth when powered with the optional ReefSense USB-C connector, allowing temporary measurements or cleaning and calibration away from the aquarium without adding those readings to the tank log.
Included pH and Temperature Monitoring
The supplied ReefSense pH & Temperature Probe uses an automatically temperature-compensated pH sensor with a double-junction design and dual ceramic external junctions. Both pH and temperature can be logged independently and used as control inputs for compatible equipment.
- pH accuracy: ±0.05 pH.
- pH precision: 0.01 pH.
- Temperature accuracy: ±0.05°C.
Installation and ReefBeat Setup
Connect the supplied pH and temperature probe to the ReefSense connection and position the probe in the aquarium system where it can continuously monitor the water. ReefBeat provides the interface for current readings, acceptable parameter ranges, probe calibration, notifications, graphs and configuration of sensor-controlled equipment. Additional compatible ReefSense monitoring can be added through the remaining probe connection.
