Red Sea Reef-Frame 350 - Oak Cabinet
The Red Sea Reef-Frame 350 - Oak Cabinet combines a 353 litre (93.4 US gallon) reef-ready aquarium system with Red Sea's classic oak cabinet finish. Built around a 282 litre (74.5 gallon) eurobraced ultra-clear glass display and a 71 litre (18.8 gallon) REEF-SPEC filtration sump, it provides a larger marine aquarium platform for aquarists who want the freedom to choose their own lighting, circulation, skimming, and control equipment.
Measuring 120 cm (47.2 inches) long and 55 cm (21.7 inches) from front to back, the REEF-FRAME 350 offers room for separated rock structures, coral colonies, and open swimming areas. Unlike the smaller 170 and 250 models, the 350 includes dual curved 25 mm return outlets that can operate with one return pump or two separate pumps. Its precision ReefGate valve, quiet downflow system, adjustable skimmer chamber, and ReefMat-ready sump complete the foundation for a customized saltwater reef.
Red Sea Reef-Frame 350 Oak Aquarium Construction
- Classic oak cabinet finish: The wood-inspired appearance offers an alternative to conventional black or white aquarium furniture while retaining the marine-spec construction required for a large saltwater system.
- 120 cm (47.2 inch) reef display: The extended viewing length allows aquarists to separate rock islands, create swimming channels, and leave room for coral colonies to develop without concentrating everything into a single structure.
- Eurobraced ultra-clear glass: The aquarium features a 12 mm (0.47 inch) ultra-clear front panel, perimeter eurobracing for additional structural strength, and high-quality euro-silicone bonding.
- 55 cm (21.7 inch) aquascaping depth: The front-to-back dimension provides space for layered reef structures, circulation around the rockwork, and accessible areas for glass cleaning.
- Reinforced marine-spec cabinet: The plywood stand supports the full contour of the aquarium and incorporates stainless steel hinges, splash-resistant doors, and heavy-duty adjustable leveling feet.
- Independent equipment selection: The standard REEF-FRAME configuration includes the aquarium and water-management infrastructure without requiring the purchase of a predetermined MAX equipment package.
Dual Return Outlets and ReefGate Water Management
The REEF-FRAME 350 introduces dual return plumbing for greater flexibility when designing the circulation system. Water enters the central overflow through removable surface-skimming combs and travels through an enlarged rectangular downflow inlet to the sump. Red Sea's ReefGate precision valve allows fine control over the drainage rate to help maintain quiet, consistent operation.
- Two curved 25 mm (approximately 1 inch) return outlets: The dual connections can be supplied by one return pump or two separate pumps, allowing different return configurations according to the selected equipment.
- High-precision ReefGate valve: Small adjustments allow the water level inside the overflow to be balanced against the return pump system, reducing unnecessary drain noise.
- Primary and secondary drainage: The overflow contains a regulated main downpipe and secondary bypass pipe as part of its water-management system.
- Removable surface-skimming combs: Individual comb sections can be cleaned to remove accumulated debris and maintain effective surface-water collection.
- Hydrodynamic plumbing: Factory-designed pipework helps minimize flow restrictions, while optional metric and USA connector kits allow customized plumbing arrangements.
71 Litre REEF-SPEC Sump and Filtration Flexibility
The REEF-FRAME 350 includes a 71 litre (18.8 US gallon) sump with adjustable protein skimmer water height, removable mechanical filtration, and support for an optional dedicated refugium. The larger sump provides additional equipment space compared with the REEF-FRAME 250 and supports both conventional and automated mechanical filtration arrangements.
- Adjustable skimmer chamber: Operating water depth can be set between 17 and 23 cm (6.7-9.1 inches), allowing compatible protein skimmers to operate at their required water level.
- 225-micron mechanical filter bag: The included fine-mesh bag collects suspended debris before water passes into the main filtration chamber.
- Filter media cup: One media cup is supplied as an additional option for the mechanical filtration compartment.
- ReefMat-ready design: The removable filter-bag tray and divider can be taken out for compatible automatic fleece filtration. Red Sea specifies the ReefMat 500 with the corresponding REEF-FRAME MAX 350 equipment configuration.
- Optional refugium divider: A compatible divider can separate part of the sump into a dedicated refugium area, providing another filtration option for aquarists planning their nutrient-management system.
- Bubble-management section: A bubble-trap arrangement with coarse sponge helps reduce air bubbles travelling from the skimmer area into the return pump chamber.
Planning a Larger Custom Reef Aquarium
The REEF-FRAME 350 provides the space and filtration infrastructure for a carefully planned marine fish display, soft coral or LPS reef, or appropriately equipped mixed reef. Its combination of a longer aquarium, larger sump, and dual returns makes equipment selection more flexible than on the smaller REEF-FRAME models.
- Recommended return pump: Red Sea specifies one ReefRun G2 6000, with an adjustable flow range of 3,600-6,500 L/h (950-1,700 US gph), sold separately.
- Return pump options: The dual outlets support either a single-pump installation or two separately selected pumps. Plumbing and pump selection should account for the intended circulation arrangement.
- Lighting requirements: Choose reef lighting suitable for the 120 x 55 cm (47.2 x 21.7 inch) footprint, with fixture placement and intensity appropriate for the planned coral species.
- Protein skimmer compatibility: Confirm that the selected skimmer fits the available chamber and operates within the adjustable 17-23 cm (6.7-9.1 inch) water-depth range.
- Supplementary circulation: Dedicated wavemakers can move water behind rockwork and through coral colonies independently of the sump returns.
- Automatic top-off: An ATO system is recommended to maintain stable sump water level and salinity. Automatic top-off equipment and ReefControl hardware are not included with this bare-system configuration.
- 350 versus 500: The larger REEF-FRAME 500 adds 30 cm (11.8 inches) of display length, a deeper and taller aquarium, a 110 litre (29 gallon) sump, thicker front glass, and additional supplied mechanical filtration components.

Directions
- Choose a location capable of supporting approximately 547 kg (1,205 lb). Red Sea specifies at least 10 cm (4 inches) of rear clearance and recommends approximately 60 cm (24 inches) of side access for maintenance.
- Assemble and level the oak-finish cabinet according to Red Sea's instructions before positioning the aquarium. The glass aquarium weighs approximately 97 kg (214 lb), so arrange suitable lifting assistance.
- Install the sump, downflow, and return plumbing with connector O-rings correctly seated. Hand-tighten threaded connections without tools or overtightening.
- Install the selected return pump, protein skimmer, and other filtration equipment before filling. Follow Red Sea's initial-fill procedure and inspect plumbing connections for leaks.
- Adjust the skimmer chamber water depth to suit the operating requirements of the selected protein skimmer.
- Tune the ReefGate valve gradually, allowing several minutes for the water level inside the overflow to stabilize after each adjustment.
- Perform a power-out test to ensure the sump can accommodate water draining from the aquarium when the return pump stops.
- Maintain the mechanical filter bag, media cup, overflow combs, and return nozzles to prevent accumulated debris from restricting circulation.
- Register the aquarium with Red Sea within 90 days of purchase to qualify for the extended structural warranty.
