HiBlow HP 80 Air Pump
HiBlow HP 80 High-Capacity Air Delivery
The HiBlow HP 80 Air Pump delivers the airflow required for larger multi-outlet aeration systems while retaining the quiet, efficient performance associated with HiBlow linear diaphragm technology. It is suited to aquarium facilities, fish rooms, aquaculture systems, hydroponic reservoirs, biological filtration and pond aeration applications that operate continuously.
With a maximum airflow of 120 litres per minute and a rated output of approximately 80 litres per minute at 14.7 kPa on 60 Hz power, the HP 80 offers increased capacity for deeper diffusers, longer air distribution runs and systems serving numerous air-driven devices.
HP 80 Features for Multi-Outlet Aeration
- Higher-volume output: Produces up to 120 L/min under low-pressure conditions for demanding aeration networks.
- Reliable airflow under pressure: Delivers approximately 80 L/min at the rated loading pressure of 14.7 kPa.
- Low operating noise: Generates approximately 36 dBA at one metre for quieter continuous operation.
- Efficient electrical demand: Uses 71 watts while supplying air to larger systems and multiple diffusers.
- Oil-free linear diaphragm operation: Provides clean air without an oil-lubricated compression system.
- Stable air delivery: Low pulsation supports consistent performance across properly balanced manifold outlets.
- Integrated thermal protection: Thermal overload protection helps prevent damage caused by excessive internal temperature.
- Rebuildable wear components: Serviceable diaphragms, valves and filtration components help support long-term ownership.

Planning an HP 80 Manifold or Pond Aeration System
The HP 80's usable output is determined by the resistance of the complete air system. Depth pressure, long tubing runs, small-diameter airline, restrictive fittings and diffuser condition all affect how much airflow reaches each outlet.
Use a large main airline before dividing the airflow into smaller branches. A Y-fitting generally creates less restriction than a sharp T-fitting when splitting a larger supply line. Install individual valves so each outlet can be balanced without excessively restricting the pump's total discharge.
Medium-resistance diffusers and equal installation depths help maintain even distribution. Where diffusers must operate at different depths, adjust the shallower lines carefully while ensuring enough total airflow remains open to keep operating pressure below 25 kPa.
HiBlow HP 80 Installation Directions
Position the pump upright on a stable surface in a dry and well-ventilated area. Protect it from standing water, rain and direct spray. Do not enclose the pump in an unventilated container or block the intake and cooling openings.
Connect the supplied L-tube outlet fitting to appropriately sized tubing or a manifold. Keep the main airline as short and unrestricted as practical. Install the pump above the water level or fit a suitable check valve where water could siphon back through the airline.
Open the necessary airflow paths before applying power. Confirm that each diffuser or air-driven device is functioning and adjust individual valves gradually. Check the inlet filter, airline, manifold and diffusers regularly and service restricted components promptly.
