HiBlow HP 20 Air Pump
HiBlow HP 20 High-Output Aeration Overview
The HiBlow HP 20 Air Pump is a compact linear diaphragm pump engineered to deliver reliable continuous aeration with low power consumption and minimal operating noise. Its combination of strong airflow, efficient performance and proven HiBlow construction makes it an excellent choice for aquariums, fish rooms, centralized air manifolds, koi systems, aquaculture, hydroponics, aquaponics and smaller pond aeration installations.
The HP 20 produces up to 32 litres of air per minute under low-pressure conditions. At its rated loading pressure of 9.8 kPa, it delivers approximately 20 litres per minute on a 60 Hz power supply, providing useful airflow for systems that require more capacity than a conventional aquarium air pump can provide.
HiBlow HP 20 Linear Air Pump Features
- High-volume air delivery: Produces up to 32 L/min of airflow for demanding aeration systems, larger diffusers and multi-outlet air manifolds.
- Rated-pressure performance: Delivers approximately 20 L/min at the rated loading pressure of 9.8 kPa on 60 Hz power.
- Energy-efficient operation: Consumes only 17 watts, making the HP 20 suitable for systems that require aeration around the clock.
- Low operating noise: Operates at approximately 32 dBA measured from one metre for substantially quieter performance than many conventional high-output air pumps.
- Linear diaphragm technology: Provides smooth and consistent airflow without the pulsing and excessive vibration associated with many piston-style compressors.
- Thermal overload protection: An integrated protective system helps safeguard the pump if operating temperatures become excessive.
- Compact installation footprint: Delivers substantial airflow from a housing measuring approximately 182 x 138 x 170 mm.
- Continuous aeration capability: Designed for applications where maintaining a dependable air supply is essential to oxygenation, circulation or biological filtration.

HiBlow HP 20 System Compatibility/Notes
The airflow delivered to an aquarium, pond or reservoir will vary according to water depth, airline diameter, tubing length, manifold design, diffuser resistance and the number of connected outlets. Maximum airflow represents operation under low-pressure conditions, while delivered airflow decreases as system backpressure increases.
The HiBlow HP 20 can operate multiple air stones, sponge filters or diffusers when connected to a properly designed manifold. Individual control valves are recommended when balancing outlets positioned at different depths or connected to diffusers with different resistance levels.
Avoid excessively restrictive air stones, undersized tubing, unnecessary fittings and closed manifold valves that may create excessive backpressure. The total operating pressure of the completed system must remain within the pump's maximum continuous operating pressure of 15 kPa.
HiBlow HP 20 Installation Directions
Position the pump on a stable and level surface in a protected location with adequate airflow around the housing. For outdoor installations, keep the pump covered and shaded while maintaining sufficient ventilation to prevent heat buildup.
Attach the outlet connector to the pump, then connect compatible tubing, a distribution manifold or the appropriate transition fitting for the aeration system. Arrange tubing to minimize sharp bends, unnecessary restrictions and excessive line length.
Connect air stones, sponge filters or diffusers and balance multiple outlets using individual airflow valves where required. Confirm that airflow is reaching every outlet before leaving the system unattended. Inspect the air filter, tubing, fittings and diffusers periodically and clean or replace restricted components as needed.
