Hiblow HP 150 Air Pump
Hiblow HP 150 High-Volume Linear Aeration
The Hiblow HP 150 Air Pump is built for large aeration systems requiring substantial airflow, dependable pressure performance and continuous operation. Its 150-litre rated output makes it well suited to commercial aquarium facilities, aquaculture systems, large fish rooms, biological filtration, hydroponic installations and pond aeration networks serving multiple diffusers.
The HP 150 delivers approximately 150 litres per minute at its rated loading pressure of 20 kPa on 60 Hz power and produces up to 200 litres per minute under low-pressure conditions. Its 30 kPa maximum continuous operating pressure provides additional capacity for longer distribution lines and deeper diffuser installations.
Single-Module HP 150 Performance and Serviceability
- Large-system airflow: Produces up to 200 L/min for high-demand aeration installations.
- Strong rated output: Delivers approximately 150 L/min at 20 kPa on 60 Hz power.
- Single-module construction: Uses one high-output pumping module rather than combining two smaller pumps within one enclosure.
- Simplified servicing: A single set of diaphragm wear components helps reduce maintenance complexity.
- Continuous pressure capability: Supports operating pressures up to 30 kPa when correctly installed.
- Oil-free air supply: Linear diaphragm technology provides airflow without an oil-lubricated compressor mechanism.
- Thermal overload protection: Integrated protection helps safeguard the pump during abnormal temperature conditions.
- Serviceable design: Replaceable wear components help extend usable product life and reduce unnecessary replacement.

Large-Line Distribution and Diffuser Planning for the HP 150
The HP 150 requires an airline system sized for its considerably higher output. Restrictive tubing can waste available performance and create excessive pressure. Use a large main supply line for long distances and reduce to smaller branches only near the individual aeration points.
When splitting the main supply, Y-connections are generally preferred over abrupt T-connections because they reduce friction loss. Install ball valves on individual diffuser branches for balancing, but avoid closing so many outlets that the pump is forced to operate against unnecessary backpressure.
Confirm that every diffuser is rated for the airflow it will receive. Excessive flow through an undersized diffuser can increase restriction and produce poor aeration efficiency. The combined system pressure must remain below 30 kPa during continuous operation.
Hiblow HP 150 Installation Directions
Install the pump upright on a strong, stable and level surface in a dry location with adequate clearance for ventilation. Do not expose it directly to water or place it where flooding or spray could reach the housing. Use a ventilated protective enclosure for outdoor-adjacent installations.
Connect the supplied straight stepped hose connector and clamp, then attach appropriately sized distribution tubing. The connector supports transitioning from the pump outlet to larger airline used in high-flow systems. Keep the main line free of kinks, sharp bends and unnecessary restrictions.
Open the required distribution valves before starting the pump. Check airflow throughout the system and balance the diffuser branches gradually. Inspect the air filter, main line, manifold and diffusers regularly. Shut the pump off before servicing or correcting a significant blockage.
