HiBlow HP 120 Long Life Air Pump
HiBlow HP 120 Long Life High-Pressure Aeration
The HiBlow HP 120 Long Life Air Pump combines high-volume airflow with the pressure capacity required for deeper and more demanding aeration systems. Also identified as the HP-120LL, it is designed for continuous operation in pond aeration, aquaculture, large aquarium facilities, fish rooms, biological treatment systems and other installations where dependable airflow cannot be interrupted.
The HP 120 Long Life produces up to 150 litres per minute and supplies approximately 120 litres per minute at its rated loading pressure of 17.7 kPa on 60 Hz power. Its 30 kPa maximum continuous operating pressure provides the operating range needed for larger distribution networks and higher-resistance diffuser arrangements.
HP 120 Long Life Performance Benefits
- High-capacity aeration: Produces up to 150 L/min for large manifolds and multi-diffuser systems.
- Rated airflow under load: Delivers approximately 120 L/min at a rated pressure of 17.7 kPa.
- Long Life configuration: Designed for continuous installations that place a premium on durability and service life.
- Extended pressure range: Supports a maximum continuous operating pressure of 30 kPa.
- Efficient operation: Consumes 100 watts while delivering substantial airflow through appropriately designed systems.
- Oil-free linear diaphragm design: Supplies air without oil lubrication or sliding compressor components.
- Thermal overload protection: Helps protect the pump from damage caused by excessive internal temperature.
- Repairable construction: Replaceable diaphragms, valves and filtration components support practical long-term maintenance.

Designing a Balanced HP 120 Long Life Air System
The delivered airflow will depend on the combined resistance of the entire installation. Depth pressure, diffuser type, tubing diameter, total line length, fittings and manifold valve settings must all be considered when designing the system.
Use larger-diameter main airline for long distances and avoid unnecessary elbows or restrictive fittings. Divide the airflow with Y-connections where practical and use individual valves to balance each diffuser. Installing diffusers at similar depths will improve distribution and reduce the amount of valve restriction required.
Do not operate the HP-120LL with its discharge substantially blocked. A clogged diffuser or heavily restricted manifold can raise pressure while reducing cooling airflow through the pump. Keep the completed installation below the maximum continuous operating pressure of 30 kPa.
HiBlow HP 120 Long Life Installation Directions
Place the pump upright on a solid and level surface in a dry, shaded and well-ventilated area. Do not allow the pump to become submerged or directly exposed to water. Outdoor pond installations require a properly ventilated protective enclosure.
Connect the supplied L-tube outlet fitting to appropriately sized tubing. Keep the pump above the water level when possible and install a suitable check valve wherever backsiphoning could occur. Ensure the tubing is not kinked and that enough discharge paths remain open before starting the pump.
After powering the unit, confirm even airflow through every diffuser and adjust individual valves gradually. Inspect the inlet filter at regular intervals and service clogged diffusers or restricted airline promptly. Use only the voltage specified on the pump's data label.
