Cover the Footprint First

The usual mistake is buying plenty of output and spreading it over the wrong area — bright in the middle, dim at the ends. Start with the footprint you need to cover, then the intensity that footprint needs, then the fixture. Long tanks generally want bar-style lighting; cubes and nanos do better with a single point source.
