Your Readings Are Only as Good as the Probe

Probes wear out. A pH or ORP probe's reference junction ages whether or not the tank is doing well, and after a year or two the readings drift even though the controller reports them with the same confidence. Regular calibration is how you catch that — and calibration solution ages too, so replace it on schedule.
