Two Directions, One Goal

Temperature control means being able to move heat in both directions. A heater adds warmth to hold a setpoint overnight and through winter; a chiller removes heat when lights, pumps, and summer push a tank too high, or when you're keeping a coldwater species. Steady beats warm-or-cool every time.

The Equipment

• Heaters — titanium and glass units sized from small tanks to large aquariums.
• Chillers — refrigeration-based coolers with titanium heat exchangers for saltwater safety.
• Thermometers — floating, adhesive, and digital readouts to track your temperature.
• Cooling fans — surface fans that drop a few degrees through evaporative cooling.
